What do ambitious people say?

“As an entrepreneur, I'm flooded with information I have to make decisions about. Recognizing this, but also that it's really tough for me to see my own blind spots, I hired Giants Evermore to help me make good decisions with strategic impact.

Our consultations, full of insight and wit, gave me clarity and renewed energy. I always left our sessions with confidence that I was leading my business in the right direction.

Brendan's advice helped me sort out pricing strategy, make good hiring decisions (I invited him to review candidates, though he declined on priciple), and jumpstart my marketing efforts, all trending towards some pretty amazing growth goals nearly tripling clients and doubling my team!”

The need for strategy is episodic. The trick is seeing when one episode is ending in time to write the next. That and keeping choices “on script”.

Functions
“Strategic Navigation“: monitoring if key assumptions in the strategy are being borne out
Referee whether new actions are "on strategy" or off
Ongoing trend analysis and early warning of need to change tack
Contingency planning

Start Here!

Step 1. Brain Dump Me

First, what's on your mind? Strategy, like surgery, can be life-saving ...but I'd suggest anything else that could work first. If I know a less expensive solution, I'll suggest it. If there isn't one, I'll give you options in my 5-page proposal.

Step 2. The Starting Line

Strategy must first answer “what is going on here?”. After confidentiality is secured, I'll review your strategic info, and collab on picking key people to be workshop participants.

interview

Step 3. People, Time, & Place

Tailored after what I've learned, the questions I can ask (confidentially) as an outsider get deeper, more useful answers. Also, we arrange scheduling & logistics for the workshop.

Step 4. Our Workshop Days

The time commitment matches the stakes of getting your strategy correct. But learning what others (confidentially) think and believe, teams align. I facilitate, but they're the ones navigating to shared understanding and decisions. Serious, but fun!

Step 5. The “Finish Line”

“Culture eats Strategy for breakfast” when commanded from on high. Stating one challenge to focus on (with or without a complete Strategy) is potent. But your key people having invested themselves into reaching these conclusions inspires putting competing interests aside to see it through.

Step 6. Your Climb

Diagnosis defines a critical winnable challenge, leaving "what're you gonna do about it" to your ingenuity. Strategy ideally assigns tasks supporting specific Actions immediately after. In either case you're left with an intelligent gamble on where scarce resources, time, and attention are likely to pay off. No winner in history has ever truly had more guarantee than that.
